Size Guide

Complete sizing reference for Danner footwear and apparel — men’s, women’s and kids’ boots, width options, shirts, pants, socks, hats, gloves and belts. All measurements are shown in inches and centimetres. Every chart is listed on this single page for quick comparison.

How to Measure

Take measurements at the end of the day, wearing the socks you intend to use.
1
Foot Length

Place a sheet of paper against a wall, stand on it with your heel touching the wall, and mark your longest toe. Measure heel-to-toe in inches or centimetres. Measure both feet and use the larger value.

2
Foot Width

Wrap a soft tape around the ball of your foot at the widest point while standing with your full weight on that foot. Compare the result with the width chart below.

3
Chest, Waist & Hip

Chest / bust: around the fullest part, tape held level under the arms. Waist: around the natural waistline. Hip: feet together, around the fullest part of the seat.

4
Inseam & Sleeve

Inseam: measure a well-fitting pair of pants flat, from the crotch seam to the hem. Sleeve: with the arm slightly bent, measure from the centre back of the neck, over the shoulder, down to the wrist.

5
Head & Hand

Head: circumference where a cap naturally rests, just above the brow. Hand: circumference around the knuckles, plus length from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger.

6
Fit Check

In a boot, the heel should stay locked with roughly half an inch of space in front of the toes. Wear the socks and insoles you plan to use; size up for thick socks or heavy orthotics.

Fit Tips

  • Boots are built on the industry-standard Brannock device, so sizing is consistent with other major outdoor footwear brands.
  • Leave roughly half an inch between your longest toe and the front of the boot; the heel should feel locked in place.
  • Wearing thick wool socks, an orthotic insole, or a heavy winter liner? Size up half a size.
  • Insulated and waterproof styles may fit slightly snugger than uninsulated styles of the same size.
  • If you are between sizes, choose the half size up for hiking and work boots, and the snugger size for lifestyle styles.
  • Leather boots relax and mould to your foot over the first 20–40 hours of wear; expect a firmer fit when new.
  • Measure both feet and fit to the larger one — most people have one foot slightly bigger than the other.

All measurements are approximate body or foot measurements, not finished garment or boot dimensions. Fit can vary by style, last and material. When in doubt, consult the measurements listed on the individual product page or contact customer service before ordering.

TFX Hot Weather Drymax Over-Calf Coyote Brown

The perfect match for hot weather conditions

With other socks, you have to wait for the wicking and evaporation to work in order to get dry. We use sweat-repelling Drymax fibers on the skin side and sweat-attracting fibers on the outside to instantly move moisture from the skin through the outer layer. This one-two punch keeps you drier, without the wait.
